Members,

The 2026 National Border Patrol Council Convention will be held in San Antonio, Texas, on Friday April 17th, 2026. Local 1929 has 6 delegates by virtue of the office to which each was elected and is entitled to 15 delegates.

On February 10th, 2026, the regularly held membership meeting will be held at 6:00 p.m. at the Las Cruces Elks Lodge, located at 3000 Elks Dr., Las Cruces, N.M., 88005.

During that meeting, the membership will determine:

  1. If the Local will participate in the NBPC Convention.
  2. Whether the Local will authorize only its existing delegates to cast the Local’s full membership strength at the NBPC Convention or elect additional delegates up to its full complement.
  3. Will the Local fund the delegation to attend the NBPC.

Since the convention is considered internal union business, those who wish to serve as delegates will be required to use annual leave or scheduled days off to attend and travel to and from the convention.

If additional delegates are authorized, the membership will determine which delegates will receive funding for travel, lodging, etc. to attend.

If the Local elects to authorize additional delegates, a special meeting will be subsequently scheduled to form an election committee, and an election will follow as prescribed in the AFGE Election Manual.

In addition to the in-person meeting, we will stream the meeting on Zoom. For those interested in joining the meeting on Zoom, please check your e-mail for directions on how to obtain a zoom link from the Union.

As always, these meetings are exclusive to MEMBERS ONLY.

Come for the information, and stay for the camaraderie… We look forward to seeing you there!
